Learn and Laugh Leadership Training
At Learn and Laugh, our commitment to exceptional early childhood education starts with strong leadership. We strongly believe that delivering consistent, high-quality early learning depends on well-supported educators.
Last week, our centres’ directors and leadership team came together for a full-day focused leadership training presented by Carmelle from ResolveHR. The day delivered practical tools, high energy discussion, and clear next steps to encourage educators’ growth, team wellbeing and consistency across our centres.
Why this matters in early learning education
Great leadership in early learning settings directly affects staff wellbeing, professional development, and quality of care. When leaders are confident, clear, and connected, then educators feel supported, and valued which leads to consistent growth and development.
For early childhood services, the National Quality Standard (Quality Area 7.2.3) requires regular performance evaluation and individual development plans to ensure a skilled and professional team of educators. Teams that engage in strong performance conversations are more motivated, and more engaged. Better conversations mean better group culture —more consistent programming, stronger relationships, and improved learning environments across our classrooms.
Session overview
This training focused on practical skills our centres’ directors can apply immediately to support their team and strengthen their growth mindset.
Carmelle led group work, open discussions and scenario exercises. The sessions focused on ‘people-first’ HR practices for early childhood services, with practical strategies for performance conversations that support growth and development, not just evaluate.
Highlights and activities
- Interactive open discussions helped leaders consider difficult conversations in a safe setting, focusing on observation-based feedback rather than personal critique.
- Small-group conversations let leaders present real challenges from their centres and receive collaborative, practical solutions from peers.
