About Learn & Laugh Randwick

Learn & Laugh at Randwick is in an all-new, architecturally designed centre, constructed with a boutique homely feel in mind. We are located on Avoca Street, opposite the Randwick Boys High School and around the corner from POW Hospital. Our centre is separated into 4 specially designed rooms which have been developed to really allow children to explore, learn and be nurtured.

We acknowledge the Bidjigal people who are the traditional custodians of this land and pay respect to their elders past, present and future, for they hold the Indigenous memories of culture and country for all Australian people.

Centre Manager - Gemma Paterson

I have acquired experience working with children at different developmental stages and across a range of educational settings. I have experience of working with children in early childcare settings, residential settings and primary schools in Scotland, Australia and Spain.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Studies and a Master of Science in Autism. I am a qualified Autism trainer and feel confident in guiding and supporting staff in working with children with a range of additional support needs.

Being at the forefront or early education, it is my duty to ensure each child is recognised as an active learner and given the opportunity to grow and learn at their own individual pace. The first five years of a child’s life is fundamental for development and wellbeing therefore I believe working in partnerships with parents is so important to ensure the best start for the child.

I strive to provide children and families with high quality care by supporting staff in delivering quality practice which nurtures children’s learning and developmental needs to optimum level.

Working in childcare is such a rewarding profession and I am so lucky I get to do something I genuinely love. I aim to bring positivity to our centre and a true sense of belonging.
