Conveniently located at the end of a no-through road and offering families a safe environment away from busy traffic. Just moments from Botany Road and Gardeners Road, with ample on-site parking available, drop-off and pick-up are quick and easy for families commuting to and from work.

Our centre has long served the local community. Part of the Learn & Laugh family since 2018. In fact, some of our team members have had their own children attend over the years.

Children enjoy our spacious outdoor play area, which is fully covered, allowing them to explore, discover, and stay active in all weather conditions throughout the year.

Our purpose-built centre features five age-specific learning environments:

  • Nursery
  • Toddler
  • Junior Preschool
  • Middle Preschool
  • Senior Preschool

Each room offers a carefully designed program that supports children’s individual development through play-based learning. Our educational programs encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning while helping children develop the skills they need to thrive.

Our dedicated team of warm and nurturing educators are passionate about building strong relationships with every child, ensuring they feel supported, encouraged, and celebrated throughout their learning journey.

Words from our lovely families

Having been at another daycare previously we are so happy we chose to move to Learn and Laugh. From the beautiful facilities, the wonderful activities, the gorgeous nutritious meals and, most importantly, the incredible, caring educators, we love L&L and our daughter loves going to daycare.

My son has been attending Learn & Laugh in Alexandria since he was 10 months old and absolutely loves it! I can’t speak highly enough about the care and dedication of his teachers and the directors. He attends 4 days a week and has learnt so much and developed really quickly in their care. Every staff member knows him by name and he is always so happy and comfortable in their presence.

This place has been such a positive experience in starting my 11 month old son in daycare. He loves it and learns so much there! The staff are great! They take extra care and I feel really reassured and happy with his care.

I’m so happy that I have my daughter enrolled here. They always make you feel welcome and they always take care of the children. Would recommend this childcare to everyone!

A true family away from home. Our little one absolutely loves it here. We have been at L&L for just under a year and I have nothing but great things to say. All the staff are kind, attentive and welcoming. The on site chef Lina is fantastic and the food provided everyday is nutritious, with a huge variety. The takeaway meal service option is also a huge bonus for having nutritional food ready made for busy evenings or to pop in the freezer. Would highly recommend for any families looking for a centre in the area.

Our son has been attending for three years, since he was 1. We've moved away but still drive him here because it's too good to leave. The centre itself is beautiful. But more importantly the educators are all such caring and genuine people. The continuity of staff has been unbelievable with very little turnover. The two centre directors are amazing. It's just an all-round excellent place.

The Director – Gillian McCarthy

I have always known from a young age that working with children would be the career path I would choose. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies back home in Ireland and this affords me the qualification of ECT here in Australia. During my time in the industry I have held many roles, beginning as a nursery room leader and eventually working my way up to centre director.

My personal philosophy has always been centred around fostering a safe and caring environment in which children are made to feel valued and secure. Being from a different country myself I understand the importance of creating a home away from home feel for all the children in my care. In knowing that they have both a space and a person to feel safe in, it is then that children can begin to explore the world around them, build upon their strengths and extend on their own interests. Role modelling positive behaviours and interactions, offering children choices in all aspects of their day  and fostering strong relationships with families are also key practices that I implement daily.

In partnership with my co-director Emma and our amazing team of educators I hope to continue in our provision of quality care and education for all the children that we welcome to Alexandria.
