About Learn & Laugh Drummoyne

Learn & Laugh at Drummoyne has been running since early 2010 and is a beautifully quaint centre at 33a College Street. It is a small centre which caters to 38 children a day, with two rooms and a beautiful cottage feel. The centre is situated down a short driveway at the back of a church, which really provides a small sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the inner west.

We acknowledge the Wangal people who are the traditional custodians of this land and pay respect to their elders past, present and future, for they hold the Indigenous memories of culture and country for all Australian people.

Words from our lovely families

Lisa Keighley

Fantastic centre, brilliant teachers. My Daughter started when she was 2 years old, she had separation anxiety and low muscle tone so struggled with balance. After only two weeks Annika loved going to school, she loved all the activities. Arts, crafts, experiments, music, Zumba, mini sport. One of the teachers picked up that my daughters balance wasn’t as strong as it should be, so she brought this to my attention and worked with Annika to help with this. They helped with toilet training, keeping manners in check, washing hands properly. Our family love this child care so much that we just sold our unit and are rebuying in the same area so we can stay at the same child care. Great Director, great teachers, great kids and great family’s.

My three children have now all attended Learn & Laugh since 2012. The centre is not only well run, but they retain great teaching staff by having a loving and warm environment. With a beautiful outdoor play space, very practical indoor setup and located in a safe but convenient part of Drummoyne, I will continue to recommend Learn & Laugh to all my friends as my preferred long day care.

The director - Belinda Kelly

I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and worked within the Early Childhood industry for over 10 years. I have always known from a young age that working with children was my passion and career path.

As a teacher and a director my personal philosophy is to aspire towards creating a nurturing and safe environment that offers children deep thought to ignite their curiosity and encourage children to investigate and explore their surroundings. A rich learning environment provides endless opportunities for children to build upon their strengths, extend their interests and engage in positive interactions drawing parallels between the home and care environment. Through play-based learning, children are able to use many languages to help shape and make visible their understanding. With play and the environment’s provided children are given opportunities to explore, wonder, discover and hypothesize.

I draw upon influences from the Reggio Emilia Approach and theorist Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory when supporting, planning and implementing practices for our children each day.
