I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and worked within the Early Childhood industry for over 10 years. I have always known from a young age that working with children was my passion and career path.
As a teacher and a director my personal philosophy is to aspire towards creating a nurturing and safe environment that offers children deep thought to ignite their curiosity and encourage children to investigate and explore their surroundings. A rich learning environment provides endless opportunities for children to build upon their strengths, extend their interests and engage in positive interactions drawing parallels between the home and care environment. Through play-based learning, children are able to use many languages to help shape and make visible their understanding. With play and the environment’s provided children are given opportunities to explore, wonder, discover and hypothesize.
I draw upon influences from the Reggio Emilia Approach and theorist Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory when supporting, planning and implementing practices for our children each day.
