Centre Director - Mairead McAuley

After four and a half wonderful years of being part of the dedicated and passionate Learn and Laugh team I am proud to step into the role of Centre Director at Learn and Laugh, Randwick. Throughout my career in Early Years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow through a variety of roles from Room Leader, Educational Leader, Second in Charge and Director which have all shaped my approach to early childhood education and care.

My philosophy is centred on creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels secure, supported, and free to explore, learn, and grow. I believe strongly in the power of play-based learning, where children can develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and creativity through hands-on, meaningful experiences.

I’m passionate about building on each child’s unique strengths, encouraging curiosity, and role modelling positive behaviour. I also value strong, respectful partnerships with families because parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and in collaboration with each other we can provide the best possible foundation for lifelong learning
