We at Learn and Laugh always try to extend our support to families beyond the hours of child care.

One of the ways we try to support our families is by offering freshly-made delicious dinners for parents to take home when they pick up their children at the end of a busy day. This ensures that busy parents have more time to spend with their children in the evenings.

Our wonderful cooks prepare the children’s favourite meals, like spaghetti bolognese and chicken stir fry with rice.

These meals cost just $5 per box and can be picked up at the end of the day, so that dinner is taken care of!

Our dedicated staff report that most families will take one or two boxes of freshly cooked food when they pick up their children. The meals prepared for dinner are the children’s favourites and are different to what they ate for lunch.

Our Rosebery, Wyoming and Lewisham centres have been offering this service for over 6 months now. With many families using it on a regular basis. Our Drummoyne and Hornsby centres have started offering dinner a few weeks ago with the new Alexandria centre soon to follow.

Fiona O’Brien, who’s child attends our Rosebery centre says she loves the take away dinners: “It means we always have dinner for Joey as soon as we get home – he doesn’t have to wait for us as we usually eat later! He definitely prefers Ana the chef’s cooking to mine too!”

Another parent, Olivia says: “We absolutely love the dinner service. The bolognese is delicious and it’s such a relief to not have to worry about dinner after a long day at work and daycare. I have mentioned it to my friends, whose children are also at daycare, and they wish it was available for them. It is such a thoughtful service!”
After long days at work and with tired children in tow, Learn and Laugh parents can now rest assured that a wholesome family meal will be waiting for them when they collect their children at the end of the day.

In addition, we would like to mention that we have moved to reusable containers for a more “green” service. These photos were mostly taken at the early stages when we started offering this service, during the trial period.

Small steps….big difference, that’s the Learn and Laugh way.
